About Us Diet Enders is the result of a thirty-two year exploration and personal odyssey into the developing territory of personal fitness by the Sinton family. This trip has occupied three generations of our family who have consistently pursued the cutting edge of whole body fitness. Olivia's story Olivia Sinton began exploring better diets and physical fitness training in 1983, two years after the birth of her third son, and discovered that no one had a comprehensive vision of this field and that the experts disagreed about most things. She pursued her research into exercise under the inspiration of Covert Bailey's breakthrough publication "Fit or Fat" and found that regular aerobic exercise works well but is not the whole story. At the same time she found that dieting seemed to work for a while, but that she would gain more weight back again during the occasional slip-ups that happen to busy people. Olivia now maintains the perfect weight for her height and is currently tuning her muscle development with the Bowflex Olivia's research then took her to the ancient Indian health system of Ayurveda. This offered a wealth of knowledge about both the effects of different foods and the importance of the emotional, mental and physical environment during meals. During the 1980's she studied Ayurveda and took courses on how to eat, what to eat and when to eat. During the 1990's Olivia began to explore the impact of emotions on eating and found that emotions seemed to be the most powerful factor in determining how successful you are at managing your weight and fitness. She has now successfully researched and tested the best methods for dealing with the emotional upsets that so often lie behind the chocolate and other food cravings we experience. Jimmy's Story Jimmy grew up in a family dedicated to fitness and sport. His father played vigorous sport at least three times each week and his mother attended biweekly exercise classes, martial arts classes and Yoga classes. Growing up in this environment, he naturally developed an interest in physical fitness. Jimmy trained as a Navy diver in 1970. The 9-week training course, based on the same principals used in training the US Navy Seals, established a high level of fitness and perfect body shape. He consolidated these gains by running and swimming for at least 4 hours weekly after the course. Many years later as a typical A-type business executive, Jimmy found that his workday left very little time for exercise and that he needed an extra helping of desert after the stress of his working day. His weight gradually increased along with his waist measurement until he realized that he had to get back into shape. He signed up for aerobics classes at lunchtime across the road from his office and attended a 60-minute class 4 days each week. To his surprise and chagrin he found his waistline unaltered along with his weight. He was overdoing the exercise intensity and duration. This left him weak and suffering from low blood sugar, which in turn led to eating more. Also his missed lunches resulted in afternoon junk food snacks and overeating at dinner which was well after 7.00 pm. Jimmy has now learned to exercise more appropriately. At 56 years of age he has realized that any strain means no gain and maybe lots of pain. Along with Olivia, Jimmy explored the best way to eat and the best foods for his lifestyle and body type. He is still building muscle, and is maintaining a comfortable level of fitness and body mass with only 3 hours of swimming, walking and circuit training each week. Jimmy is now the president of an Internet development company that specializes in building high quality interactive websites. He works with his second son Kim who is also an accomplished web developer and fitness trainer. Kim's Story At age 16 Kim started both his physical fitness training and his computer programming education. Kim studied muscle building and became a part-time physical fitness trainer in 1997. Since that time Kim has developed and refined a number of training programs that balance the relationship between cardio-vascular and muscle building type exercises. Kim maintains the perfect body weight and muscle development for his favorite sport, which is off-road cycling. Kim has also pursued an avid interest in diet and how it affects bodybuilding. He has learned how to tune into the signals that his body sends him about what to eat and how much, as well as when to eat. He has learned how to help others develop these skills and has contributed very valuable knowledge and training techniques to this program. Kim has also proved himself in the field of interactive website design and development. At age 24 he was elected president of a multimillion-dollar internet development company where he headed up a team of over 25 highly experienced programmers and software engineers. Kim is now a partner in a web development company where he works with some of the finest development specialists in the business of interactive website development.
